FKTs

What is an FKT?

FKT stands for Fastest Know Time.

FKT term that's commonly used in the outdoor and endurance sports community to refer to the quickest time in which a specific trail, route, or challenge has been completed. This can include things like running a certain hiking trail, completing a long-distance bike ride, or climbing a mountain. FKT times are often tracked and recorded as a way to set personal or community benchmarks and to provide inspiration and motivation to others who may attempt the same feat.

As of now, no organization completely controls or organizes the routes and times of popular cycling routes around the world. A website for running/hiking FKTs has become an amazing platform for those attempting FKTs on foot. Hopefully, there will be a platform like that for cycling in the near future.

VTXL

This was a big one. Finishing the VTXL with a record time was a huge accomplishment for me.

Thanks to Ted King and Joe Cruz for putting this route together. Quite amazing.

Rockstar Gravel

An amazing accomplishment tainted by small town politics and a lawless version of racing...

The Rockstar Gravel route in Virginia is a scenic and challenging cycling experience for experienced cyclists. It covers approximately 250 miles through the rolling hills of rural Virginia and includes a mix of gravel roads, doubletrack, and singletrack trails. Along the way, riders will be treated to breathtaking views of the Blue Ridge Mountains and the surrounding countryside. The route is not well-marked and there are limited rest stops. With its challenging terrain and picturesque surroundings, the Rockstar Gravel route is a must-do for any gravel cycling enthusiast.
